The 24-year-old all-rounder was born on 23rd February 2000. Her cricketing journey includes stints with New South Wales and Sydney Thunder in Australia, as well as Middlesex in England. Horley’s participation in the 2019–20 Women’s Big Bash League season for Sydney Thunder showcased her talent on the big stage. In 2022, she further expanded her horizons by playing for Middlesex in the Women’s Twenty20 Cup, demonstrating her ability to adapt to different formats and environments.
She made her international debut for Scotland on 5th September 2022 in a T20I against Ireland. She has played seven matches and scored 181 runs at a strike rate of 119.86 and an average of 25.85 in seven innings. Her best performance with the bat in the T20I format came on 5th September 2022 against Ireland when she scored 52 runs at a strike rate of 123.80. Apart from her exploits with the bat, she has also picked up three wickets with the ball in the T20I format.
She made her ODI debut on 12th April 2024 against Papua New Guinea. She smashed an impressive half-century (62 runs at a strike rate of 81.57, apart from her impressive performance with the bat, she also picked up three wickets and returned with exceptional match figures (7-1-22-3), earning her the Player of the Match award on her debut, announcing herself on the International stage in the One Day format.
Horley’s connection to Scotland through her mother, who was born in Edinburgh, has enabled her to represent the Scottish national team. Her inclusion in Scotland’s squad for the series against Ireland in September 2022 highlights her commitment to international cricket and her willingness to contribute to Scotland’s success.
