The Srilanka batters fail to deliver as they lost their second match in a row against Australia by 9 wickets.
Winning the toss, Srilanka opted to bat hoping for some changes in fortune, sadly they had to face a tough day at the arena.
Srilanka openers failed again to give a good start, Mendis and the centurion from the last match Chamari Athapaththu got out soon in quick time, No other batters were successful except a little cameo from Siriwardene and Kanchana who scored 19 and 16 respectively. For the Aussies, almost everyone delivered well, whereas Perry ended as the highest wicket-taker of the match with 2 wickets. Srilanka ended up their innings at a below-par score of 84 with the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Chasing the target, as usual, the hard hitter Alyssa Healy started with a bang from first over itself, She scored a quick 21 in 15 balls including 2 fours and 1 sixes. On the other side, the centurion from the last match, southpaw Beth Mooney continued her good form playing an unbeaten knock of 28 in 25 balls and with the fall of Healy’s wicket, Batting Allrounder Erin Burns promoted up the order and she grabbed the opportunity with both the hands as she scored a quick unbeaten 30 off 18 balls including 6 lovely boundaries. In the end, the Aussies chased the target in just 9.4 overs.
With this win, Australia grabs the series and they lead the series 2-0 with one game left. Chances of Srilanka winning looks very low.
