South Africa Women will begin their final phase of preparation for the upcoming Women’s World Cup in India and Sri Lanka with a three-match ODI series against Pakistan Women in Lahore. The series will run from September 16 to 22, with all matches scheduled at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The opening clash takes place on September 16, while the final contest will be played on September 22. After this series, the Proteas will head to India, whereas Pakistan will travel to Colombo before the World Cup begins on September 30.

Pakistan enters this series on the back of a flawless run at the 2025 Qualifier, where they won all five of their matches, defeating Bangladesh, West Indies, Thailand, Scotland, and Ireland. Sidra Amin emerged as their top scorer with 225 runs in five games, closely followed by Muneeba Ali, who amassed 223 runs. Captain Fatima Sana impressed with the ball, bagging 12 wickets across those five matches.
South Africa, on the other hand, have had a mixed 2025 so far, registering only three wins in seven ODIs. Despite the inconsistency, individual brilliance has shone through: Tazmin Brits leads their run charts with 371 runs, while Annerie Dercksen has added 329 runs. In the bowling department, Nonkululeko Mlaba has stood out with 13 wickets in six games, supported by Masabata Klaas, who has struck eight times in just four outings.
Head-to-Head:
- Total Matches – 28
- Pakistan Women Wins – 5
- South Africa Women Wins – 21
The two teams last faced each other in September 2023, when South Africa toured Pakistan and claimed the series 2-1. Heading into this encounter, Pakistan boast an unbeaten streak in 2025 with five victories on the trot, while South Africa have only managed three wins in seven. However, history favours the Proteas, who have won seven of their last ten encounters against the Asian side.
