The stage is set for fierce competition from September 30 to 2nd November 2025. But beyond the boundary lines, the 2025 World Cup already stands distinct, thanks to a hybrid model that will witness all of Pakistan’s matches played at neutral venues in Colombo, the result of a carefully brokered agreement between the BCCI and PCB.

The unique hybrid hosting model sees all of Pakistan’s matches, including the semi-final and final, should they progress, played in Colombo. This arrangement, born out of diplomatic considerations, ensures that all teams have a clear path to the knockout stages. The group stage is a true round-robin, with each of the eight teams playing every other, guaranteeing a fair and fiercely contested race to the top four.
The group stage culminates in a double-header on Sunday, 26 October, with England facing New Zealand in Guwahati at 11 AM IST, followed by India versus Bangladesh in Navi Mumbai at 3 PM IST. This day could well decide the final standings and set the stage for the knockout rounds.
The first semi-final is scheduled for Wednesday, 29 October, to be held in Guwahati or Colombo depending on Pakistan’s progression. The second semi-final follows on Thursday, 30 October in Navi Mumbai The grand finale, on Sunday, 2 November, will be hosted in either Navi Mumbai or Colombo, ensuring a fitting climax to what promises to be a tournament for the ages.
With eight teams, 28 league matches, and three knockout games spread across five vibrant cities, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo, the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup is set to be a celebration of skill and spirit.
