Heather Siegers played a big role with both bat and ball as Netherlands Women beat Bangladesh Women by eight runs in the third match of the Scotland Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2026 in Edinburgh.

It was a special win for the Netherlands because it was their first-ever T20I win against Bangladesh Women. The victory also helped them recover after losing their first match of the tournament.
Bangladesh Women won the toss and decided to bowl first. Netherlands Women scored 162 for 5 in their 20 overs with several batters making useful contributions.
Heather Siegers was the top scorer with 52 runs from 43 balls, including seven fours. Phebe Molkenboer gave the team a good start with 29 runs from 24 balls, while Sterre Kalis added 28 runs from 27 deliveries.
Captain Babette de Leede scored a quick 16 runs from only seven balls, and Robine Rijke remained not out on 18 from 10 balls to help the Netherlands finish well. The Dutch team reached 100 runs in the 14th over and added important runs at the end of the innings to reach a strong total.
For Bangladesh Women, Fariha Trisna was the best bowler with 2 wickets for 26 runs. Rabeya Khan and Marufa Akter took one wicket each.
Chasing 163 runs to win, Bangladesh Women lost two early wickets and were 13 for 2. Captain Nigar Sultana fought hard and kept her team in the game with an excellent 77 from 51 balls. Her innings included seven fours and one six.
Juairiya Ferdous scored 22 runs and Ritu Moni added 17, but Bangladesh kept losing wickets at important moments and could not build enough partnerships. They finished on 154 for 8 and fell eight runs short of the target.
Heather Siegers completed a memorable match by taking 3 wickets for 39 runs. Silver Siegers also bowled well and picked up 2 wickets for 24 runs. Iris Zwilling, Isabel van der Woning and Frederique Overdijk took one wicket each.
Heather Siegers was named Player of the Match for her all-round performance of 52 runs and 3 wickets.
The result was important because Scotland Women had won the first two matches of the tri-series. Scotland beat Netherlands Women by nine wickets in the opening match and then defeated Bangladesh Women by eight wickets in the second match.
After three matches, Scotland Women are at the top of the points table with four points from two wins. Netherlands Women are second with one win and one loss from two matches. Bangladesh Women are third after losing both of their matches.
This win has kept Netherlands Women’s hopes alive in the tournament. Bangladesh Women now need good results in their remaining matches, while Scotland Women remain in the strongest position as the tri-series moves closer to its final stage.
