The schedule for Namibia’s tour of the Netherlands has been announced and the Capricorn Eagles are all set to take on the Dutch women in a 5-match T20I series starting June 27th. The matches between Netherlands and Namibia will be played at Hermes DVS and VCC, Voorburg.
Head-To-Head:
The countries have previously met in 2019 in Arbroath, Scotland where the Dutch women registered a comfortable win against the Capricorn Eagles with splendid performances both in the batting and bowling department. Iris Zwilling took 3 wickets for 11 runs and Heather Siegers took 3 for 27. Zwilling and Siegers helped restrict Namibia to a total of 91 runs for the fall of 8 wickets. Sterre Kalis scored 34 runs along with a valuable 21 from Heather Siegers made sure the dutch women got the required runs.
Netherlands has the the summer full of cricket has Netherlands also take on Ireland in ODIs and FairBreak in T20s later this year.
Shane Deitz, National Women’s coach said, “We have a fantastic summer of cricket ahead of the team with great opportunities in T20 and 50 over cricket all at home in front of our home supporters. The girls have worked really hard over the winter and early in the summer and are ready for the international summer ahead”.
“Namibia- currently ranked higher than us- will be a great challenge and one we are excited about. They are a well-prepared side and have played a lot of international cricket of late so this will be a tough series” Shane added.
