Uganda comes out on top in the battle of the best to be crowned as the champions of the 2024 edition of the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament.

The Uganda Women’s team led by skipper Janet Mbabazi had an exceptional campaign in the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament as they finished at the top of the points table with 14 points from seven games. They stayed unbeaten in the tournament.

The Zimbabwe Women led by skipper Chiedza Dhururu eventually ended up as the runners-up of the tournament courtesy of their 2-run defeat against Uganda in the final on 8th June 2024 (Saturday). They also had an impressive campaign in the league stages as they finished 2nd on the points table with 10 points from seven matches. Their couple of defeats in the tournament came against Rwanda and Uganda in the league stages.

The hosts Rwanda led by skipper Marie Bimenyimane also had an impressive tournament, finishing 3rd on the points table with 10 points from seven games. Their couple of defeats came against Uganda and Nigeria. The Nigerian women led by skipper Favour Eseigbe had a decent campaign as they finished fourth on the points table with eight points from seven games. Their three defeats in the tournament came against Uganda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe A.

The Kenya Women’s team led by skipper Esther Wachira had a decent campaign as they finished fifth on the points table with eight points from seven games. Their three victories in the tournament came against Uganda, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe A. Botswana women led by skipper Tuelo Shadrack had a disappointing tournament as they just managed a couple of victories against Cameroon and Malawi.

Malawi women led by skipper Vanessa Phiri suffered a horrible tournament as they just managed a solitary victory against Cameroon. Cameroon led by skipper Michelle Ekani had a horrible tournament as they finished at the bottom of the points table, failing to get a victory under their belt.
