The 9th day of the ongoing edition of the Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament 2025 witnessed Tanzania face Cameroon in the 33rd match, Uganda up against Rwanda in the 34th match, Zimbabwe High Performance XI and Malawi in the 35th match, and Sierra Leone facing Brazil in the 36th match.

Match 33: Tanzania Women vs Cameroon Women

Tanzania posted a massive total of 172/3 in their quota of 20 overs on the back of impactful contributions from the top-order, led by Fatuma Kibasu’s brisk half-century (59 off 56 balls), Saum Mtae’s power-packed 41 off 23 balls and Neema Pius’ 34 off 37 balls, after the Tanzanian skipper Shufaa Mohamedi won the toss and opted to bat first. Huge partnerships of 75 between the openers Neema Pius and Fatuma Kibasu, followed by another massive 81-run partnership for the 2nd wicket between Saum Mtae and Fatuma Kibasu, were pivotal in setting a massive total on the board. Maeva Douma (4-0-24-1) and Edwige Guehoada (4-0-23-0) were impressive with the ball for Cameroon

Chasing a target of 173, the Cameroon batters succumbed to the scoreboard pressure as they were bundled out for just 53, with 10 balls to spare. As a result, they fell 119 runs short of the target. Madeleine Sissako (11 off 31 balls) was the only batter to enter the double digits with the bat for Cameroon. Tabu Omary (4-0-13-4), Perice Kamunya (4-0-5-2), and Agnes Qwele (3-0-4-1) were exceptional with the ball for Tanzania, while Mwanamvua Ushanga (4-0-16-2) and Neema Pius (3.2-0-11-0) played their part with the ball for their side.

Match 34: Uganda Women vs Rwanda Women

Uganda posted a competitive total of 119/6 in their quota of 20 overs on the back of vital contributions from Immaculate Nakisuuyi (44 off 45 balls) and Rita Musamali (36 off 29 balls) with the bat for Uganda, after the Rwandan skipper Marie Bimenyimana won the toss and inserted them to bat first. Skipper Janet Mbabazi (11 off 10 balls) was the only other batter to enter the double digits with the bat for Uganda. Henriette Ishimwe (4-0-23-3), Rosine Irera (3-0-15-2), and Rosette Shimwamana (4-0-11-1) were sensational with the ball for Rwanda.

Chasing a target of 120, Rwanda got over the line with five wickets in hand and 8 balls to spare. Skipper Marie Bimenyimana (46 off 44 balls), Henriette Ishimwe (33* off 26 balls), and Clarisse Uwase (25 off 25 balls) chipped in with vital contributions with the bat for Rwanda. Stephani Nampiina (4-0-21-2), Sarah Akiteng (4-0-18-1), skipper Janet Mbabazi (4-0-26-1), and Kevin Amuge (2.4-0-17-1) were the top performers with the ball for Uganda.

Match 35: Zimbabwe HP XI Women vs Malawi Women

Decent partnerships from the Zimbabwean middle-order guided them to a respectable total of 125/7 in their quota of 20 overs, after the Malawi skipper Ketrina Chingaipe won the toss and inserted them to bat first. Nyasha Gwanzura (34 off 37 balls), Kelly Ndiraya (17* off 13 balls), Michelle Mavunga (17 off 15 balls), and Natasha Mtomba (15 off 16 balls) chipped in with vital contributions with the bat for Zimbabwe. Eva Kabwere (4-1-15-4) was exceptional with the ball for Malawi, while skipper Ketrina Chingaipe (4-0-27-1), Lucy Malino (3-0-14-1), Esther Richard (3-0-21-1), and Sugeni Kananji (3-0-14-0) played their part with the ball for their side.

Chasing a target of 126, Malawi were restricted to 95/9 in their quota of 20 overs, falling 30 runs short of the target. Sophina Chinawa (21 off 20 balls), Ketrina Chingaipe (18 off 28 balls), and wicket-keeper batter Triphonia Luka (14 off 25 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Malawi. Nyasha Gwanzura (3-0-11-2) and Loryn Phiri (4-1-17-2) picked up a couple of wickets each, while Lindokuhle Mabhero (4-0-11-1), Mitchelle Mavunga (4-0-16-1), and Christabel Chatonzwa (4-0-19-1) played their part with the ball for Zimbabwe.

Match 36: Sierra Leone Women vs Brazil Women

Sierra Leone were restricted to 85/8 in their quota of 20 overs, after skipper Aminata Kamara won the toss and opted to bat first. Fatu Conteh (25 off 34 balls), skipper Aminata Kamara (25 off 27 balls), and Celina Bull (18 off 30 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Sierra Leone. Lindsay Boas (4-0-15-4) was the stand-out performer with the ball for Brazil, while Maria Ribeiro (3-0-9-1), Marianne Artur (2-0-8-2), and Lara Moises (4-0-16-0) played their part with the ball for their side.

Chasing a target of 86, Brazil got over the line with 8 wickets in hand and 38 balls to spare. Laura Agatha (52* off 39 balls) scored an impressive half-century for her side alongside skipper Laura Cardoso (29* off 36 balls), guiding their side over the line with a massive unbeaten 84-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. Celina Bull (3.4-1-22-1) was the only wicket-taker with the ball for Sierra Leone. Skipper Aminata Kamara (4-0-18-0) was impressive with the ball for her side.
