The Women’s National team of Argentina is set to tour Brazil in June 2023 for a series of five T20 International matches. This bilateral series between the women’s teams from both countries marks an important milestone in their cricketing journey outside of ICC regional pathway tournaments and the Women’s South American Championships.
The series will not only provide valuable ranking points but also serve as crucial preparation for both teams ahead of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier.
The Argentina Women’s team, led by captain Alison Stocks, comprises talented players such as Tamara Basile, Sofia Bruno, Maria Castineiras, Alina Emch, and Albertina Galan. These skilled cricketers will bring their expertise and determination to the matches against Brazil Women.
On the other hand, Brazil Women, under the captaincy of Roberta Avery, have a strong line-up that includes Lindsay Boas, Renata Sousa, Laura Agatha, Nicole Monteiro, and Marianne Artur. With a mix of experience and emerging talent, Brazil Women are ready to take on their Argentine counterparts
The Argentina Women’s Tour of Brazil is scheduled to take place from June 14th to June 20th, 2023. The matches will be held at the Poços Oval – South Zone Ecological Park in Poços de Caldas, Brazil. A total of five T20 International matches will be played, each carrying ranking points.
Series schedule:
· 17th June 2023: Argentina Women vs Brazil Women – 1st T20I and 2nd T20I
· 18th June 2023: Brazil Women vs Argentina Women – 3rd T20I
· 19th June 2023: Argentina Women vs Brazil Women – 4th T20I and 5th T20I
The matches will serve as crucial preparation for both teams as they gear up for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier, which will be held in the United States in September 2023. The top teams from the region will compete for a chance to qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The Argentina Women’s and Brazil Women’s teams have previously faced each other in ICC regional pathway tournaments and the Women’s South American Championships.
