Following Bangladesh’s triumph in the opening One-Day International (ODI) of the 3-match series against Ireland, the hosts will aim for a series win in the 2nd ODI, while the visitors will fight to stay alive in the series. The game is scheduled for 9:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on the 30th of November 2024, at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

Players to watch out:
Murshida Khatun
The 25-year-old opening batter, from 25 ODI innings, has accumulated 468 runs at an average of 21.27, with the highest score of 91*. Murshida has struggled for runs of late but managed a welcome return to form in the series opener, scoring 36 off 61 balls. She is a highly promising top-order batter, and it is hoped she builds on this return to form, following up with a big score.
Rabeya Khan
The 19-year-old leg-spinner, from 14 ODI outings, has claimed 16 wickets at an average of 26.62, an economy rate of 3.94, and recorded the best of 3/29. Rabeya has been in notable form of late, emerging as a wicket-taker, and her returns from the ODI opener read 0/18 (4). She should be backed to build on this start and can be relied upon for wickets, leading the tally for her side.
Leah Paul
The 25-year-old middle-order batter, from 35 ODI innings, has amassed 919 runs at an average of 26.25, and with six fifties and a century to her name, she has registered the highest score of 137. Leah registered scores of 81, 19, 33, 1, and 22 in her previous five ODIs leading up to this series, and though she departed for a duck in this series opener, she can be trusted to find her footing.
Freya Sargent
The 18-year-old off-spinner, from 11 ODI appearances, has struck 17 wickets, including the best of 3/29, maintaining an economy rate of 5.75. Freya was a standout for the team this summer, striking 7 wickets from 6 ODIs against Sri Lanka and England. Continuing this momentum, she returned figures of 2/51 in the series opener and can be relied upon for breakthroughs.
Pitch:
The Shere Bangla National Stadium offers a relatively balanced center wicket, with conditions favoring both batters and bowlers. The spinners, in particular, gain an advantage from the conditions, and a score in the 220s is considered a challenging one on this track.
Weather:
The conditions in Mirpur are forecasted to be pleasant for the game, with partly cloudy skies and a low chance of rain. The temperature is expected to be around 28°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 57%.
Fantasy playing XI:
Nigar Sultana, Murshida Khatun, Sharmin Akhter, Fargana Hoque, Orla Prendergast, Laura Delany, Nahida Akter, Freya Sargent, Aimee Maguire, Marufa Akter, Rabeya Khan
