Harmanpreet Kaur:
The captain of India starred with the bat as she top scored with 44 runs off 63 balls, including three boundaries. With the ball, she accounted for 13/1 in seven overs, bowling right arm off spin. Her all-round contributions helped India register a four-wicket win in the first ODI against Sri Lanka.
Deepti Sharma:
The Indian all-rounder had a good outing with both bat and ball in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. She scalped 25/3 in 8.2 overs, including one maiden over. Apart from her bowling, she stood out with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 22 off 41 balls, lower down the order.
Nilakshi de Silva:
The right-handed middle order batter of Sri Lanka mustered 43 runs off 63 balls, including four boundaries. She came in to bat in the 19th over when her team was struggling at 65/4 and was there in the middle holding the innings at one end till the 42nd over of the match.
Inoka Ranaweera:
The left arm spinner from Sri Lanka was the most successful bowler for the team in the first ODI against India. She picked up 39/4 in 10 overs and was the most economical bowler. The wily spinner was rewarded for her consistency with lines and lengths.

This will be the second women’s ODI that will be played at this venue with the first ODI being played on July 1, 2022. Close to 350 runs were scored in that match and a total of 16 wickets fell in the process. The wicket looked to be slow which made it difficult for batting.
