India team announced for one-off Test, ODI and T20I series for Australia Tour

The All-India Senior Women’s Selection Committee on Tuesday picked up India’s squad for the upcoming Australia tour starting 19th September.  As always, there were few surprise additions and ommissions from the squad.

Indrani Roy, who was picked up for the England tour after her steller domestic show has been dropped from the team without being given a single match on the England tour. Similarly, Priya Punia has been dropped from the squad as well who again did not get a single game.

Spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad finally makes a comeback after she was dropped from England tour due to a knee injury. Meghna Singh also gets a spot in the Test and ODI squad and so is Renuka Singh Thakur who is set to make her debut for India in the T20I series.

Mithali Raj (Captain), Harmanpreet Kaur (vice-captain), Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Punam Raut, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia, Taniya Bhatia (wicket-keeper), Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami, Meghna Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Richa Ghosh, Ekta Bisht.

India Women’s T20I squad:

Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia, Shikha Pandey, Meghna Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Richa Ghosh (wicket-keeper), Harleen Deol, Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh Thakur.
