It was once again a Nuzhat Parween show as she steered Railways to a 10-wicket win over Baroda in the Round IV of the Super League.
Match 135: Railways vs Baroda
Venue: Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Cricket Ground, Mulapadu
Baroda won the toss and chose to bat. But this move didn’t turn out to be beneficial as the batters could not form a formidable partnership. Palak Patel 14(18), Jenita Fernandes 18(13) at the top and Jaya Mohite 20(29), Pragya Rawat 13(17) at the end overs propelled Baroda’s score to 87/8. Railways’ Preeti Bose and Swagatika Rath scalped 2 wickets apiece.
The Railways batters had a fearless approach while chasing the target. Openers Meghana Sabbineni and Nuzhat Parween did all the work as Baroda’s bowlers failed to take even a single wicket. Sabbineni made 33 off 37 while Parween continued her brilliant form with the bat. She hit 54 while facing 60 deliveries to see her team through in the 17th over itself. Railways won the match by 10 wickets.
