Nuzhat Parween and Asha Sobhana star as Railways continue their unbeaten streak in the tournament – Railways vs Himachal – Round II Super League
It was a complete performance by Railways as they thrashed Himachal in Round II of the Super League. They batted first, scored a daunting total and then bowled out the opposition in the second innings. Nuzhat Parween who was the standalone performer in the last match carried her form to this match as well. She made an unbeaten 93 to take Railways’ total to 153 runs. Her 93 runs came in 67 balls as none of the bowlers seemed to trouble her much. Had she faced more balls, there was a strong possibility that Parween would have even made a century. Captain Sneh Rana too, remained not out on 32(19). Mona Meshram made 21 runs in 30 balls. Railways made 153 runs and lost only 2 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Himachal never looked in the chase as they kept losing wickets and scored at a lower run rate. Shivani Singh made 21 runs in 15 balls while Vandna Rana scored 18 off 25. Tajinder Singh also contributed 12 runs to the team’s total. Himachal were bowled out in the final over of the match as Asha Sobhana took 4 wickets while giving only 5 runs. She took 2 wickets in 2 balls and along with Swagatika Rath and Sneh Rana who scalped 2 wickets each, restricted Haryana to 86 runs.
