Group D: Round III – Himachal, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh win over Kerala, Manipur and Punjab

The Round III matches of Group D took place on 17th October. Two matches were conducted at RDCA Ground, Raipur while another took place at Ravenshaw University Ground, Cuttack.

Match 1: Himachal vs Kerala

Venue: RDCA Ground, Raipur

Himachal saw a good performance from its batting unit in the first innings. While Nikita Chauhan scored 46 runs in 37 balls, Shivani Singh made an unbeaten 41 off 21 balls. Captain Sushma Verma scored a handy 24 while Harleen Deol top scored with 48 runs in 38 balls. Himachal were 169/3 at the end of their batting innings.

In reply, Kerala could only score 101 runs losing 9 wickets. Jincy Kutty and Aleena Surendran both scored 24 runs.

Result: Himachal win by 68 runs.

Match 2: Chhattisgarh vs Manipur

Venue: RDCA Ground, Raipur

Manipur made 59 runs while batting first. Partnerships could not be formed as wickets kept falling frequently. They lost a total of 9 wickets. Captain Ganga Waikhom’s 19 runs off 25 balls was the highest score of the innings.

Chhattisgarh chased the target in only 8.1 overs losing 2 wickets. Manpreet Singh 20(18) and Yashi Pandey 23(9) successfully completed the chase.

Result: Chhattisgarh won by 8 wickets.

Match 3: Punjab vs Uttar Pradesh

Venue: Ravenshaw University Ground, Cuttack

While batting first, Punjab made 111 runs and lost 8 wickets. Opener Priyanka Malik’s 36 off 27 was the highest contribution from a batter of their side. Anjali Amar Singh of Uttar Pradesh took 4 wickets and gave only 17 runs in her 4 overs.

Uttar Pradesh made 112/4 and chased the target in 19 overs. Anita Lodhi 37(31) and Aditi Sharma 38(43) were the main contributors.

Result: Uttar Pradesh won by 6 wickets.
