Players to watch out for

Sharmin Akhter:

The right-hand opening bat created history in the last match, which she played against the United States, as she became the first women’s player to score a century across ODIs and World Cup qualifiers. The 25-year old hammered 130 not out off 141 balls, including 11 boundaries, and guided her team to a daunting total of 322 in 50 overs.

Salma Khatun:

The right arm off-spinner who opened the bowling for Bangladesh in their last match against the United States was the pick of the bowlers as she scalped 2-10 in her 10 overs. She bowled as many as five maiden overs and was the most economical bowler for the team. Bangladesh will want their seasoned campaigner to come good going into the next match as well.

Thipatcha Putthawong:

The left arm spinner wrecked havoc with the ball in her last fixture against Pakistan during which she claimed 5-18 in her nine overs, including three maidens. She played an instrumental role in reducing a batting powerhouse like Pakistan to a modest 145. Her lines and lengths were spot on and she kept the batters at bay with her accuracy.

She showed a lot of patience and fight during her stay at the crease. She looked solid with her technique and played the balls on their merit.
