Nashra Sandhu is one of the most important bowlers in Pakistan women’s cricket. She is known for her left-arm spin bowling, accuracy, and calm attitude on the field. Over the years, she has become a key player for Pakistan in both ODI and T20I cricket.
Nashra was born in Lahore and first wanted to become a fast bowler. Later, one of her coaches advised her to try spin bowling. That decision changed her career. She worked hard on her bowling and soon started top performing in domestic cricket.
She played for teams like Abbottabad, Omar Associates, Saif Sports Saga, Higher Education Commission, and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited. Her strong performances in domestic cricket helped her get selected for Pakistan A and later for the national team.
Nashra is also well educated and completed her M.Phil degree from Lahore College for Women University while continuing her cricket career.
Nashra Sandhu’s ODI Career
Nashra Sandhu made her ODI debut for Pakistan against South Africa in February 2017 during the Women’s World Cup Qualifier. She made an immediate impact and finished as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 17 wickets in seven matches.
One of her best performances came against India in the 2017 Women’s World Cup when she picked up 4 wickets for 26 runs. So far, Nashra has played 86 ODI matches and taken 117 wickets, her best bowling figures are 6 wickets for 26 runs. She has bowled more than 4300 balls in ODI cricket and has kept a very good economy rate of 4.37.
Nashra is known for bowling tight overs and putting pressure on batters. She often bowls in the middle overs and helps Pakistan control the game.
She has also taken 34 catches in ODI cricket and is a safe fielder for the team.
Nashra Sandhu’s T20I Career
Nashra made her WT20I debut against New Zealand in November 2017. She has played 74 T20Is and taken 72 wickets for Pakistan. Her best bowling figures in T20Is are 4 wickets for 18 runs. She has an economy rate of 5.46, which shows how well she controls the scoring rate in short-format cricket.
Nashra’s spin bowling has helped Pakistan in many important matches. She uses flight, turn, and smart bowling changes to trouble batters. In November 2023, she reached the fifth spot in the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings, which was a big achievement in her career.

Before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, Nashra showed good form in Pakistan’s home series against Zimbabwe. In the WT20I series, she took important wickets and bowled economical spells. She picked up 2 wickets for 21 runs and 2 wickets for 18 runs in back-to-back matches in Karachi.
