Match 4 – ICC Women’s World T20 Warmups 2018 – West Indies vs India Women

Electing to bat, West Indies posted 115-8 in 20 overs. Opener Halley Mathews gave the required start by scoring 41 runs in 37 balls with five 4s and 1 six. Even after a desired start the team couldn’t really build on Halley’s score. S Campbelle (22 runs) and N McLean (18 runs) were the other contributors. Radha Yadav  took 2 wickets by giving 13 runs in her spell of 4 overs with an economy rate of 3.2.

After West Indies inning, match was disturbed by rain and by DLS Method the target was changed to 75 runs in 12 overs. India won the match with 3 balls to spare with the help of Mandhana’s 32 runs knock in 20 balls with two 4s and two 6s. Harmanpreet Kaur (18 runs) and Veda (11 runs not out) were the other contributors. Deandra Dottin didn’t score with bat but was economical with the ball, she took 3 wickets in 2.3 overs by giving 12 runs. Although defeating defending champions was not an easy task but the Indian team kept it’s calm since the beginning and put forth a clinical performance.
