In the match between Kenya Women and the Mozambique Women in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier, Kenya Women secured a dominating victory by 9 wickets at the Entebbe Cricket Ground.

The Mozambique skipper, Amelia Lucas Mundudo, had won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening partnership was broken in the 2nd over as Sergio was dismissed off the bowling of Nezarine. Yudney Da Kley Martinho Murrure was the only batter to enter double-digit, top scoring with 10 runs.
The wickets kept tumbling with no batter being able to contain the pressure from Kenya’s bowling unit, and were bowled out for 56, with 21 runs coming off extras. Kenya’s bowling attack was led by Stella Rodgers, who picked up a fine 4-wicket haul and was well supported by Atamba and Oluoch.
Rodgers bowled a phenomenal spell, where she picked up 4 wickets and gave away just 14 runs from her 3.2 overs. She won the Player of the Match award for her match-winning performance. Meanwhile, Roshele bowled a crucial spell, where she picked up 2 wickets and gave away just 4 runs from her 2 overs, and so did Nezarine Oluoch, bowling quite an impactful spell, picking up 2 wickets and giving away just 10 runs from her 2 overs.
In the second innings, the Kenya Women had an easy win on the cards as they had to chase down just 57 runs from 120 balls. Tania Atieno and Zainabu Hamisi had opened the innings, and the duo shared a 32-run stand. Hamisi on 15 (13) was run out. Then, Melvin Khagoitsa had walked in at number 3, and she scored a quick 15* off 7 balls, to put the final nail in the coffin.
Khagoitsa didn’t have much to do, but when she walked into bat at number 3, she scored a well-made cameo of 15 runs off just 7 balls, finishing the match and winning it for her side by 9 wickets. Kenya U19 registered a comfortable win as they finished the game within 6 overs and lost just one wicket.
