The excitement for The Hundred 2025 is reaching its peak, with teams finalizing their squads for the upcoming season. Scheduled to kick off on August 5, the competition promises to be an action-packed spectacle, and the much-anticipated player Draft on March 12 will play a crucial role in shaping the teams.

The 2025 Women’s Draft features a diverse mix of 120 domestic players and 110 overseas players. Each player has a reserve price, dictating the minimum amount they can be signed for. Once all slots in a particular price band are filled, players in that category can no longer be selected, adding an extra layer of tactical planning for franchises.
Teams had until February 25 to finalize their retentions, with up to 10 players per team, including one centrally contracted England player and up to three overseas players.
This retention phase allowed franchises to secure their core players while leaving room for new talent in the draft. Notable names such as Heather Knight, Sophie Devine, and Issy Wong were not retained, making them available for selection in the upcoming draft.
A major change ahead of the 2025 edition was the introduction of the direct signing rule, allowing teams to acquire one overseas player outside of the draft process. The first-ever direct signings under this rule saw New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr joining Manchester Originals and South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt signing with Southern Brave.
