Kate Cross removed Kathryn Bryce after the Superchargers skipper, Hollie Armitage, won the toss and opted to bowl first on a sluggish wicket. Amelia Kerr joined skipper Beth Mooney at the crease, and just as the duo were settling into a rhythm, the Originals suffered yet another blow as Kate Cross sent the opposition skipper Beth Mooney packing to the pavilion to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side, removing both the openers inside the powerplay.

Seren Smale joined Amelia Kerr at the crease, and the duo took their time to assess the conditions on offer, en route to their resilient 29-run partnership for the 3rd wicket, which also took their side past the 50-run mark. Lucy Higham got the crucial breakthrough of Amelia Kerr (21 off 26 balls) to provide the 3rd breakthrough for the Northern Superchargers.
