Welsh Fire led by skipper Tammy Beaumont defeated Southern Brave led by skipper Georgia Adams by nine wickets at the Rose Bowl, Southampton in the 30th match of the season to book their direct qualification in the final of the 4th edition of the Women’s Hundred, courtesy of a top-of-the-table finish. Trent Rockets led by skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt were all set to face Oval Invincibles led by skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in the 31st match of the season.

The Oval Invincibles skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill won the toss and opted to field first at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. After being inserted to bat first, Trent Rockets got off to a poor start as they lost their top order, including the wicket of their skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt in the first 13 balls of the run chase. Ashleigh Gardner joined Wicket-keeper batter Natasha Wraith at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 43-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side close to the 50-run mark.

Heather Graham joined Ashleigh Gardner at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 14-run partnership for the 5th wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark. Trent Rockets eventually ended up with a total of 91/8 in their quota of 100 deliveries.

They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and as a result, they failed to form a substantial partnership. Ashleigh Gardner (43 off 26 balls), wicket-keeper batter Natasha Wraith (14 off 14 balls), and Alexa Stonehouse (9 off 11 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Trent Rockets. Marizanne Kapp (20-12-8-3), Rachel Slater (20-12-15-2), Sophia Smale (20-14-17-2), and Maddy Villiers (20-9-17-1) were the top performers with the ball for Oval Invincibles.

Chasing a target of 92, the Oval Invincibles openers Chamari Athapaththu and skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill got their side off to a steady start with an 18-run opening partnership. Ashleigh Gardner picked up the wicket of Chamari Athapaththu to provide the first breakthrough for Trent Rockets. Alice Capsey joined skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 15-run partnership for the 2nd wicket.

Oval Invincibles lost a couple of wickets in quick succession as Heather Graham picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill and Alana King picked up the wicket of Alice Capsey on successive deliveries. Paige Scholfield joined Marizanne Kapp at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 51-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side close to the 100-run mark.

Kirstie Gordon picked up the wicket of Paige Scholfield to provide the much-needed 4th breakthrough for Trent Rockets. Oval Invincibles eventually got over the line with five wickets in hand and six balls to spare. Marizanne Kapp (26 off 24 balls), Paige Scholfield (26 off 24 balls), Chamari Athapaththu (16 off 17 balls), and Alice Capsey (10 off 14 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Oval Invincibles.

Ashleigh Gardner (19-9-23-2), Kirstie Gordon (20-12-9-1), Alana King (20-10-19-1), and Heather Graham (15-9-17-1) were the top performers with the ball for Trent Rockets. Marizanne Kapp was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant all-round performance.
