The London Spirit and two-time champions Oval Invincibles have faced each other thrice, and the latter has emerged victorious in all three contests, securing a comforting lead in their head-to-head encounters.

Squads:

London Spirit – Heather Knight (C), Amelia Kerr, Charlie Dean, Danielle Gibson, Grace Harris, Sarah Glenn, Sophie Munro, Sophie Luff, Grace Scrivens, Tara Norris, Niamh Holland, Richa Ghosh, Lauren Filer, Chloe Hill, Alice Monaghan

Oval Invincibles – Marizanne Kapp, Alice Capsey, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Lizzie Scott, Suzie Bates, Dane van Niekerk (C), Mady Villiers, Paige Scholfield, Eva Gray, Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Kira Chathli, Sophia Smale, Hannah Rainey, Cordelia Griffith, Claudie Cooper

Players to watch out:

Grace Scrivens

The 19-year-old batting all-rounder, who led her side to the final of the inaugural World Cup, didn’t have the best of runs at the Charlotte Edwards (CE) Cup. However, she gained some form in her outings of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint (RHF) Trophy and would look to capitalize on that form, while has been good with the ball, scalping a few wickets.

Danielle Gibson

The 22-year-old has had a memorable summer at the cricket so far, being around the senior English women’s team and receiving her Twenty20 International (T20I) cap. At the CE Cup this summer, Danielle, in 6 games, struck 8 wickets at an economy rate of 7.39 and proved to be very handy with the bat, contributing 166 runs in 4 innings at a strike rate of 141.88.

Alice Capsey

The 18-year-old all-rounder, in 17 T20I appearances, has scored 361 runs. In 3 CE Cup outings, she scored 107 runs, including the highest of 71. Alice’s numbers in the competition include a 150-run season off 8 games in the inaugural edition and a 118-run season off 6 games in the following edition.

Paige Scholfield

The 27-year-old all-rounder has had a brilliant domestic season, performing well across tournaments, and now aims to leave her mark at The Hundred as well. Paige, in 6 CE Cup innings, chipped in with 126 runs and 6 wickets, and also is the 2nd highest run-getter in the RHF Trophy with 331 runs off 8 outings.

Pitch:

The center wicket at the venue is often covered in green, aiding the seamers and leading to low-scoring matches. However, batters benefit from the true bounce and fast outfield, and once they have settled in, they can make the most of it. A decent total at the venue should bring us a competitive game.

Weather:

With showers forecasted throughout the match duration, there is a possibility of rain playing spoilsport and potentially resulting in a washout. The temperature is expected to be around 18°C, with moderate winds and a humidity level of 82%.
