The place where success comes after work is only in the dictionary. Victory will never come to you like a wrapped parcel you have to chase it with your efforts. Just as difficult as it sounds success does not come to all. You have to earn it. The victory of India over South Africa was a team effort but we cannot let the heroic work go unnoticed. Few players from India really strived hard to bring the team close to the title and pushed their limits to achieve excellence. These players have distributed a show of appreciable talent and contributed significantly in the Qualifiers.
Devika Vaidya: The 19 year old cricketer who joined the team few months ago has left everyone in awe through her batting skills in the very first match of the Qualifiers. She has top scored with 89 runs in the match against Sri Lanka even though it has been only the second ODI that she has attended. Her knock consisted of 11 fours and she came off to 103. Due to her significant contribution in providing a fierce target she was declared as the player of the match. It is admirable how she has outperformed in a very short period of time with hardly any experience with ODIs.
Thirush Kamini: In the match against Ireland where India Women cruised to a 125 run win, India’s Thirush Kamini performed admirably. Batting first, India got to a definite 250/2 due to the well-crafted century played by her. It was due to her brilliant performance in the final overs by rendering hits on the balls and her rapport with Deepti Sharma that led the team to achieving a target like this. Similar kind of performance was given by her in the match against Sri Lanka.
Mansi Joshi: Mansi Joshi shone as a star in the match where India defeated Thailand by nine wickets at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Colombo. While Thailand being on strike, it failed to score runs against the Indian bowling line up. For India Mansi joshi earned 3 wickets for 4 runs while other players like Deepti Sharma, Poonam Yadav and Rajeshwari Gayakwad took 2 wickets each. Mansi Joshi was awarded as the player of the match for her match winning contribution.
Poonam Yadav: Poonam Yadav was all in the headlines after India’s victory over Zimbabwe. She took a whole of 5 wickets as India made it to the nine wicket win. A leg spinner whose best at what she does, Poonam restricted the opponents for a 60 in 28.5 overs.
Along with these players there were other players like Harmanpreet Kaur, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Mona Meshram and Ekta Bisht who guided India towards successful win in the individual matches at the Qualifiers. Keep going India. World Cup on the way.
