The Cricket Rap ft. Indian Women Cricket Stars #ApnaCricketAayega

Times are tough. Pandemic has taken a toll on all the sporting activities throughout the globe. Fans are wondering if the stands will be the same. Players are wondering if the game would be the same. There is nothing but uncertainties. Peace and mental calmness are the only traits to soothe oneself.

The current generation rejoices rap. They go with the beats and dive into the lines. Rap soothes the soul. Considering this in mind, Female Cricket decided to pen down a tribute song thanking the frontline heroes like doctors, nurses, support staff, police, government, and private officials and everyone involved in fighting this pandemic. The idea was simple, to create awareness about the ongoing situation and remind everyone to stay at home and maintain social distancing.

Gully Boy drove this trend to a newer level with a desi touch. A new entrant to this tally is a rap song by Team Female Cricket. Vishal Yadav got into the shoes of Ranveer Singh and wrote lyrics for the same. The song was launched on Female Cricket’s YouTube channel and has received love from all sides.

The video starts with clips from the ground and the good old days. The campaign is called “Apna Cricket Aayega”. It captures the emotion of all the fans and lovers throughout the globe. Giving her voice is the cricketing ace Reema Malhotra, former India player and now a commentator. She has been joyful throughout the song. The lyrics are simple but are powerful.

It gives the message clearly and captures the plight of fans eagerly waiting for live-action. In unprecedented times like these, we need discipline and dedication. Tough times call for tougher measures and a sporting fraternity can be the best lot. The presence of role models and stars gets the message directly to the masses and cricketers like Reema Malhotra, Veda Krishnamurthy, Vanitha VR, Sushma Verma and all the women have done the same. Everyone is missing Cricket, but everyone needs to come out stronger.
