We are getting closer to the Inaugural edition of the Emerging Women’s Asia Cup which will be commencing on 12th June 2023. There will be eight teams contesting for the title. India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Hong Kong are placed in Group A, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, and Malaysia are placed in Group B.
The skipper of Bangladesh’s emerging side Lata Mondal is hopeful of her side doing well in the upcoming tournament. Sobhana Mostartary will be Lata Mondal’s deputy. The fact that few of the players in the Bangladesh squad already have the experience of playing at the international level, might give them a slight edge over the other teams.
“Our target is to play good cricket. We were among matches in the Premier League and also held camp. We have a good preparation and now let’s see what happens” the Bangladesh skipper said to the reporters in Mirpur before leaving the country, en route to Hong Kong for the Emerging Asia Cup.
