Players to watch out:

Jo Gardner

The 27-year-old top-order batter, from 9 CE Cup outings this season, has amassed 236 runs, including the highest score of 79*, at a strike rate of just over 100. She has also bowled on a couple of occasions but remained wicketless. Opening the innings early in the competition, Jo scored big runs; now in the middle order, she continues to chip in runs and can be counted on to lead the tally.

Sophie Munro

The 22-year-old pacer, maintaining an economy rate of 7.54, has scalped 8 wickets from 6 CE Cup games this summer. Following a promising start, returning figures of 4/27 and 2/26, Sophie finished wicketless in a couple of games but is back among the wickets with bowling figures of 1/26 and 1/38. She looks in good rhythm and can be relied upon for breakthroughs.

Amanda-Jade Wellington

The 27-year-old all-rounder, in the ongoing CE Cup, has added 123 runs to the tally at a strike rate of 155.69 and bagged 10 wickets from 7 games at an economy rate of 6.15. While Amanda-Jade has consistently chipped in with the bat, she bagged wickets in only 2 of her previous 5 outings, though she was economical, and will be banked upon for her all-round efforts.

Sophia Smale

The 19-year-old left-arm off-spinner has struck 9 wickets from 7 bowling outings, at an economy rate of 7.16, in this edition of the CE Cup and has also been handy with the bat. Sophia’s returns from her previous 4 innings read 3/15, 0/13, 2/28, and 1/23, and given the form she is in, she can be banked upon to continue this form while also chipping in with the bat, delivering the goods.

Pitch:

The Chelmsford County Cricket Ground features a balanced center wicket that offers runs for batters and a good amount of assistance to bowlers as well. The average score at the venue is in the 130s, and pacers have the upper hand on this track.

Weather:

It will be a pleasant day for cricket in Chelmsford, with no expected rain interruptions and partly cloudy skies overhead. The temperature will be around 18°C, with light winds and humidity at 63%.
