Players to watch out:
Alice Macleod
The 30-year-old middle-order batter had a decent few games last season, consistently registering starts. Alice kicked off her ’24 CE Cup season with a solid fifty and followed up with a score of 19. Though in her previous couple of outings she departed cheaply with 0 and 9, she’ll be backed to find her footing.
Eva Gray
The 24-year-old pacer didn’t have the best of outings in the CE Cup last edition, bagging only 4 wickets from 7 games, but was more than handy with the bat. While she hasn’t been required much with the bat, she’s been consistent with the ball, taking 4 wickets from as many games, and hopefully builds on this momentum.
Sterre Kalis
The 24-year-old opening batter, from 35 T20I innings, has amassed 1104 runs at an average of 35.61. Sterre kicked off her ’24 domestic season on the right foot with a solid fifty in her only One Day match but has only managed starts in the T20s. It’ll be expected that the veteran batter converts them into substantial scores.
Katie Levick
The 32-year-old leg-spinner struck 12 wickets from 7 CE Cup outings last summer, and come the ’24 domestic season, she continues to be at her economical and wicket-taking best, with 10 wickets from 6 One Day matches. Carrying forward her form into the T20s, she has returned figures of 1/33, 3/22, 2/14, and 1/39, and can be counted on for more.
Pitch:
The center strip at County Ground, Northampton, is relatively balanced with an average score in the 120s. While conditions are conducive for batting, the wicket also offers assistance to pacers, as reflected in the modest average score at the venue.
Weather:
Northampton promises ideal conditions for a game with partly cloudy skies, as the chances of rain are minimal. The temperature is expected to hover around 18°C with light winds and a humidity level of 61%.
