Players to watch out for
Ellen Watson:
The right-handed opening bat was the top run-getter for Scotland in their last match against Sri Lanka. She muscled 30 runs off 26 balls, including four boundaries. She was the only one out of the two Scottish batters to score in double digits.
Katherine Fraser:
The right arm spinner from Scotland picked up 1-27 in her four overs. She bowled in disciplined lines and lengths. She did not bowl a single extra. She bowled well inside the powerplay as she picked up the wicket in the fifth over of the match.
Winifred Duraisingam:
The captain of Malaysia was the lone fighter with the bat, as she top scored with 12 runs off 31 balls against Bangladesh in her last match. Apart from her, none of the other batters managed to score in double digits.
Nur Arianna Natsya:
The left arm spinner from Malaysia was the pick of the bowlers in her last outing against Bangladesh. She scalped 2-14 in her two overs. The wily spinner was the solitary wicket-taker for her team.
Pitch
More than 250 runs were scored in the second match that was played here on January 18. The wicket is good to bat on and the batters get value for their shots. For the bowlers it is a bit tough, however, if they stick to the basics they can yield rich dividends from the wicket.
Weather
The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms forecasted. The average temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius. There is close to 50% chance of rain in the latter half of the game. The wind will blow from the west-southwest.
