Thailand have been in fine form of late, as they even managed to reach the Global Qualifiers of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Bangladesh earlier this month. The Thai team topped their group which contained the likes of Hong Kong, Kuwait, China, and Myanmar. Thailand was undefeated in the group stage, winning 3 matches out of 4 along with 1 match getting abandoned due to rain.

Thailand defeated Nepal in the Semi-Final quite comprehensively to warrant themselves a place in the Global Qualifiers. They lost the finals of the Asia region qualifiers by the barest of margins at the hands of United Arab Emirates.

The selectors have not made any changes to the squad that secured a place in the Global Qualifiers. Naruemol Chaiwai will be the captain of the squad, with Suwanan Khiaoto and Nannapat Koncharoenkai being the 2 designated keepers in the squad.

Nannapat Koncharoenkai was Thailand’s top scorer in the Asia Region qualifier amassing a total of 177 runs from 5 innings at a stellar average of 59 and a strike rate of 91.70. Natthakan Chantham was Thailand’s second-highest run-scorer, accumulating a total of 141 runs from 5 innings at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 77.47.

With the ball in hand, Nattaya Boochatham was quite unbelievable, taking a total of 18 wickets from 6 innings at an economy rate of 2.09. She also picked a four-fer and a five-fer in the tournament. Thipatcha Putthawong and Onnicha Kamchomphu were quite handy with the ball too, as both the players picked a combined total of 15 wickets.
