Thailand Women U19 stormed into the next stage of the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026 with a commanding 129-run victory over Japan at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Powered by an unbeaten half-century from Aphisara Suwanchonrathi and a clinical bowling performance, Thailand posted 156/7 before dismissing Japan for just 27 in 17 overs. The victory ensured Thailand advanced to the next round with another convincing display, while Japan also progressed despite the heavy defeat, leaving Myanmar eliminated from the group.

After Japan won the toss and opted to field, Thailand overcame a cautious start to put together a competitive total. Wicketkeeper Phichamon Darajaroen struggled for fluency before falling for 5(21) with the score at 18 in the sixth over. Arrikan Phuengkho then injected some momentum into the innings with a brisk 21(22), striking one four and one six before Mei Miyazaki accounted for her at 43/2. Thanrada Seesawan chipped in with 5(6), while captain Koranit Suwanchonrathi contributed 13(10).
The innings completely belonged to Aphisara Suwanchonrathi. The right-hander anchored the middle order with a composed unbeaten 65(43), striking six boundaries at a strike rate of 151.16. She found useful support from Chanoknan Phanao, who scored 17(15) as Thailand finished on 156/7.
Japan’s bowling effort was led by Natsume Wada Macdonald, who produced impressive figures of 3/14 from her four overs. Mamta Kaswan (1/39), Mei Miyazaki (1/24), Mio Akizuki (1/19) and Palak Amit Gundecha (1/33) picked up a wicket apiece. Thailand’s innings was also boosted by Japan’s lack of discipline, with the bowlers conceding 28 extras, including 22 wides.
Defending 157, Thailand’s bowlers produced another dominant display of bowling in the tournament. Pattamawadee Suriya struck in the opening over to dismiss Miku Yamaguchi for a duck before Phonphimon Khongdee removed Kicho Suzuki (3) and Mio Akizuki (0) to reduce Japan to 13/3. Bianca Shino attempted to hold the innings together, remaining unbeaten on 16(44), but received little support from the other end. Ayane Sakuraba managed just 1(19) before falling to Kewarin Saechao, while Mamta Kaswan was dismissed for 0(6) by Kesinee Kaewjumphol.
Patcharaporn Sorntha then ripped through the lower order, removing Palak Amit Gundecha (0), Mei Miyazaki (2) and Kate Tai (0), while captain Koranit Suwanchonrathi struck twice in one over to dismiss Natsume Wada Macdonald (2) and Kaede Taniguchi (0). Japan were eventually bowled out for just 27 in 17 overs, with only Bianca Shino reaching double figures.
Thailand’s wickets were shared across the attack. Patcharaporn Sorntha finished with 3/5 from two overs, Phonphimon Khongdee claimed 2/4 in four overs, and Koranit Suwanchonrathi returned remarkable figures of 2/1 from a single over. Pattamawadee Suriya (1/5), Kesinee Kaewjumphol (1/8) and Kewarin Saechao (1/3) also picked up wickets as Japan’s batting line-up crumbled under sustained pressure.
With the result, Thailand Women U19 and Japan Women U19 both secured qualification to the next stage of the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026. Thailand head into the next stage in formidable form after successive comprehensive victories, with both their batting and bowling firing, while Japan will hope to regroup quickly despite the setback.
