Singapore Women U19 produced a composed run chase to defeat Qatar Women U19 by five wickets in the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026 at the YSD UKM Oval, Bangi. Chasing a competitive target of 108, Singapore rode on a match-winning opening partnership and a crucial half-century from Anushka Tomar to seal victory with 20 balls to spare, finishing on 108/5 in 16.4 overs.

Earlier, Qatar Women U19 posted 107/7 in their allotted 20 overs after Kezia Paul anchored the innings with a patient knock, while Singapore’s bowlers, led by Anushka Tomar, kept the scoring under control despite a few late boundaries. The result marked an impressive all-round performance from Singapore in the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup, with both bat and ball contributing to a comfortable victory.
Qatar Women U19 endured an early setback when Fatima Mukadam was run out by Laasya Amrutha Reddy for just 3, leaving the side at 13/1 in the third over. However, Kezia Paul and captain Krisheta Sarvanakumar steadied the innings brilliantly with a valuable 45-run partnership for the second wicket. Kezia played the anchor’s role with a well-crafted 36 off 52 deliveries, striking four boundaries, while Krisheta contributed an attacking 19 from 23 balls with three fours. Their stand helped Qatar rebuild after the early wicket and carried the innings to 58 before Krisheta was dismissed by Anushka Tomar.
After the second wicket, Devanandha Kavinisseri joined Kezia Paul and the pair added another useful 13 runs. Devanandha scored 5 from 6 balls before Laasya Amrutha Reddy took a fine catch to give Anushka Tomar her second wicket. Qatar then lost momentum as Sargam Patel managed only 5 off 14 balls before being trapped leg-before by Tomar, who completed an excellent spell. Lihara Abeysekara departed for a first-ball duck after being caught and bowled by Ankitha Varsha Raj, further denting Qatar’s hopes of a late flourish.
Despite the collapse, Jaza Mariyam injected momentum into the innings with an entertaining cameo of 14 from just 7 deliveries, smashing three boundaries before falling to Laasya Amrutha Reddy. Pavithra Thamarai Selvam added only 2, while Amna Kashif remained unbeaten on 10 from four balls and Maria Jacob finished not out on 3. Qatar closed on 107/7 in 20 overs, with 10 extras also contributing to the total.
Among Singapore’s bowlers, Anushka Tomar starred with outstanding figures of 3/25 from four overs. Roma Raval (0/21), Zoe Arunima Diwedi Regine (0/21) and Ananyah Ahuja (0/7) also chipped in by maintaining pressure throughout the innings.
Needing 108 for victory, Singapore Women U19 made a confident start through captain Laasya Amrutha Reddy and Anushka Tomar. The opening pair completely dominated the chase, stitching together a magnificent 93-run partnership that effectively decided the contest. Laasya played a composed innings of 27 from 33 deliveries with two boundaries before becoming the first wicket to fall in the 13th over, dismissed by Fatima Mukadam. At the other end, Anushka Tomar continued to dictate terms with elegant strokeplay, reaching a superb 53 from 54 balls, including six boundaries, registering a match-winning half-century.
Although Singapore lost wickets in quick succession after the opening stand, the required target had already been brought well within reach. Ankitha Varsha Raj scored 1 before being dismissed by Maria Jacob, while Jui Rameshwar Surwase added 3 before Fatima Mukadam claimed her second wicket. Anushka Tomar departed for a brilliant 53 with the score on 107, giving Maria Jacob her second wicket, and Avnita Patil Raju was dismissed for a duck by the same bowler. Extras also played a significant role, contributing 24 runs, including 18 wides.
Qatar’s bowling attack fought hard despite defending a modest total. Maria Jacob emerged as the standout performer with excellent figures of 3/17 from 2.4 overs, picking up three late wickets to keep the contest alive briefly. Fatima Mukadam also impressed with 2/19 in three overs, dismissing both Laasya Amrutha Reddy and Jui Rameshwar Surwase. Amna Kashif bowled two tidy overs for 14 runs without success, while Lihara Abeysekara (0/20), Jaza Mariyam (0/21) and Pavithra Thamarai Selvam (0/16) remained wicketless.
