The United Arab Emirates Women produced a clinical all-round performance to register a dominant 10-wicket victory over Saudi Arabia Women in the Group B clash of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026 at Bangi on June 3. The contest turned into a one-sided affair as the UAE bowlers dismantled the Saudi batting lineup before the openers wrapped up the chase in just five deliveries, sealing the win with a remarkable 115 balls remaining.

Saudi Arabia Women were asked to bat first and endured a difficult outing right from the start against a disciplined UAE bowling attack. The innings never gained momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. Captain Mashael Waqas attempted to hold the innings together and finished as the top scorer with 9 runs from 22 deliveries, while the rest of the batting unit struggled to cope with the accuracy of the UAE bowlers.
The first breakthrough came at 7/1 in the third over when Abeer Maryam departed for 4 after a brief opening stand worth seven runs. Saudi Arabia’s troubles deepened immediately as Najwa Akram was dismissed for just 1, reducing the side to 8/2. The pressure continued to build when Laiba was bowled for a duck, leaving the innings in disarray at 8/3.
Mashael Waqas and wicketkeeper Nimra Ghazanfar then attempted a rebuilding job. The pair added seven valuable runs for the fourth wicket, taking the score to 15 before Nimra fell after scoring 3 from 17 balls. Despite the difficult conditions, Mashael continued to battle at one end. Alongside Sara, who remained unbeaten on 3 from 21 deliveries, she stitched together the highest partnership of the innings, a 12-run stand for the fifth wicket that carried Saudi Arabia to 27.
However, the innings completely unraveled after Mashael’s dismissal at 20/5. Laiba Nasrullah was dismissed without scoring, followed by Rizwana Begum for a duck. Ashmal Hashmi contributed 2 runs but became another victim of the relentless UAE attack. Mah Noor Aamir was dismissed for a duck, while Mah Noor also failed to score as Saudi Arabia lost their final six wickets for just 12 runs. Sara remained stranded unbeaten as Saudi Arabia were bowled out for just 27 in 15.3 overs.
The star of the innings was Suraksha Kotte, whose spell proved devastating. The right-arm bowler claimed 3 wickets for just 5 runs in her 4 overs and was deservedly named Player of the Match. Esha Oza matched that wicket tally with figures of 3 for 9 from 4 overs. Heena Hotchandani also picked up 3 wickets while conceding only 4 runs in 2.3 overs. Katie Thompson chipped in with 1 wicket for 4 runs from 3 economical overs, removing Ashmal Hashmi through an LBW decision. Samaira Dharnidharka bowled a tidy opening over that yielded the wicket of Abeer Maryam, while Vaishnave Mahesh completed a maiden over during the innings.
Chasing a modest target of 28, UAE Women showed no intention of prolonging the contest. Captain Esha Oza came out aggressively and immediately put the Saudi bowlers under pressure. Alongside Theertha Satish, she added an unbeaten opening partnership of 30 runs, making light work of the chase.
Oza entertained with a blistering knock of 15 not out from only 5 deliveries, smashing two boundaries and a six at a staggering strike rate of 300.00. Theertha Satish supported her captain perfectly with an unbeaten 4 from a single ball, which included a boundary. UAE also benefited from 11 extras, including 10 wides, as they raced to 30/0 in just 0.5 overs.
For Saudi Arabia Women, Mah Noor Aamir was the only bowler used during the chase. Unfortunately, it proved to be a difficult outing as she conceded 30 runs in five deliveries without taking a wicket.
The emphatic victory significantly boosted UAE Women’s net run rate and underlined their credentials as one of the strongest teams in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026. With their bowlers sharing the wickets and the batters completing the chase in record time, UAE Women delivered a near-perfect performance, while Saudi Arabia Women will be eager to regroup and improve in their upcoming fixtures.
