Thailand Women delivered a ruthless all-round performance to secure a commanding 10-wicket victory over Mongolia Women in the Group A fixture of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on June 3. Led by a sensational bowling display from Thipatcha Putthawong, Thailand bundled out Mongolia for a meagre total before their openers chased down the target with ease, finishing the contest with 106 balls to spare.

The match began with Mongolia Women looking to build a competitive total after being sent in to bat. However, Thailand’s disciplined bowling attack immediately put them under pressure. Mongolia’s innings got off to a shaky start when Batjargal Ichinkhorloo was trapped lbw by Phannita Maya without scoring, leaving the score at 1/3 in the very first over.
Nomin-Erdene Erdenebat and Oyunsuvd Amarjargal attempted to rebuild the innings with a brief partnership worth three runs. However, Mongolia lost another wicket at 4/2 when Nomin-Erdene was run out for 3. The pressure created by Thailand’s bowlers continued to grow, and Mongolia found it difficult to rotate the strike.
Captain Gansuk Anujin tried to counterattack and looked positive during her short stay. Alongside Oyunsuvd Amarjargal, she added nine runs for the third wicket, the highest partnership of the innings. Anujin struck a boundary in her quick 6 off 5 balls before becoming the first victim of Thipatcha Putthawong, with Mongolia slipping to 13/3 in the fourth over.
What followed was the decisive phase of the innings. Putthawong produced a devastating spell that completely dismantled the middle order. She first removed Myagmarzaya Batnasan for a duck at 13/4 and then dismissed Uugansuvd Bayarjavkhlan for another duck on the very next delivery, reducing Mongolia to 13/5. Completing a memorable hat-trick, Putthawong bowled Enkhbold Khaliunaa for 0, leaving Mongolia reeling at 13/6 and effectively ending any hopes of recovery.
Despite the collapse, Oyunsuvd Amarjargal showed resilience and occupied the crease for 24 deliveries. Together with Sunjidmaa Phillips, she stitched a small but valuable partnership of five runs for the seventh wicket, taking the score to 18. Sunjidmaa contributed 1 run before falling to Chayanisa Phengpaen, while Ganbold Urjindulam was dismissed shortly after for a duck. Oyunsuvd’s patient knock finally ended on 2 runs from 24 balls when she was trapped lbw by Sunida Chaturongrattana, leaving Mongolia at 16/8.
The innings concluded quickly thereafter as Damdinsuren Enkhtsetseg was dismissed by Suleeporn Laomi without scoring. Battur Unenchtseceg remained unbeaten on 0, but Mongolia were eventually bowled out for 19 in 9.2 overs. Extras, which contributed 7 runs, were the second-highest scorer for the side.
Thailand’s bowling unit was outstanding throughout the innings. Player of the Match Thipatcha Putthawong starred with remarkable figures of 5 for 3 from her four overs, including a stunning hat-trick that broke the backbone of the Mongolian batting lineup. Phannita Maya claimed the opening wicket and finished with 1 for 10 from two overs. Sunida Chaturongrattana bowled economically and picked up 1 for 1 from two overs, while Chayanisa Phengpaen and Suleeporn Laomi claimed one wicket each to complete the demolition.
Chasing a target of just 20, Thailand Women wasted no time asserting their dominance. Openers Nattahkan Chantham and Phannita Maya came out with positive intent and ensured there would be no hiccups during the chase. The pair put together an unbeaten opening partnership of 21 runs, comfortably guiding Thailand to victory in just 2.2 overs.
Phannita Maya led the charge with an aggressive unbeaten 19 from only 10 deliveries, striking four boundaries at an impressive strike rate of 190.00. Nattahkan Chantham played the supporting role perfectly, remaining unbeaten on 2 from 4 balls as Thailand reached 21/0 without losing a wicket.
For Mongolia Women, Uugansuvd Bayarjavkhlan conceded 15 runs from 1.2 overs, while Oyunsuvd Amarjargal gave away 6 runs in her solitary over. Neither bowler managed to make a breakthrough as Thailand completed one of the most dominant victories of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026.
The comprehensive win highlighted Thailand Women’s superiority in all departments, particularly their bowling depth and disciplined execution. Putthawong’s match-winning five-wicket haul and hat-trick will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the standout performances of the tournament, while Mongolia Women will look to regroup and learn from a difficult outing.
