South Australia’s innings started on a shaky note after being put into bat. Early strikes by Victoria’s pace attack kept the top order under tight restraint. Bridget Patterson was the first to fall for 11, caught by Rhys McKenna off Kim Garth, leaving the score at 22/1 in the 5th over. Shortly after, Emma de Broughe’s patient stay of 23 off 36 balls came to an end when she was caught by Day off McKenna. Victoria’s bowlers kept chipping away; Sophie Day dismissed Hollie Armitage for 9, and Annabel Sutherland trapped Eleanor Larosa for a duck, leaving South Australia reeling at 60/4 in the 13th over.
