In what turned out to be a one-sided contest, disciplined bowling followed by a composed run chase defined the night.

Qatar Women’s innings never quite found sustained momentum despite a promising start. The early breakthrough came at 1-1 in just the 0.3 over mark when Getrude Chandiru was dismissed, setting the tone for Oman’s control. Rizpha Bano Emmanuel injected early urgency with a brisk 9 off 6 balls, striking two boundaries before being run out at 2-12 in 2.2 overs. That wicket brought Christteena Jacob and Krisheta Saravanakumar together, and the pair attempted to steady the innings. They added 17 runs for the third wicket before Krisheta fell for 6 off 17 balls at 3-29 in 6.4 overs.

Christteena, showing intent with 22 off 23 balls including two fours, stitched another partnership, this time 16 runs with Aysha, to take the score to 45 before she was stumped off Sathiya at 4-45 in 9.2 overs. Aysha contributed 8 off 12 balls but was run out at 5-58 in 12.5 overs, reflecting Oman’s sharp fielding effort. Khadija Imtiaz struggled for fluency, managing 8 off 22 deliveries before becoming Fiza Javed’s wicket at 6-59 in 13.2 overs.

The middle and lower order found it difficult to accelerate against tight lines. Taful Elkhair compiled 15 off 17 balls but fell at 7-89 in 18.4 overs to Gunasekar. Sneha Chandnani’s brief stay ended in a run out at 8-94 in 19.6 overs. Shahreen Bahadur remained unbeaten on 14 off 19 balls as Qatar Women closed at 94/8 in their 20 overs, with 11 extras aiding the total.

Oman Women’s bowlers were clinical in this women’s T20 international. Priyanka Mendonca stood out with figures of 4-0-11-1, maintaining a superb economy of 2.75 and applying early pressure. Sushanthika Sathiya (4-0-17-1) and Fiza Javed (4-0-17-1) kept things tight through the middle overs, while Amanda Dcosta’s 4-0-16-0 spell ensured there was no late surge. Jayadhanyha Gunasekar also chipped in with 2-0-12-1, and Afida Afthab delivered 2-0-16-0 to round off a disciplined bowling display. The runouts, three in total, highlighted Oman’s alertness in the field.

Chasing 95 for victory, Oman Women approached the target with composure. The opening partnership between Jayadhanyha Gunasekar and Trupti Pawde laid a solid platform, adding 27 runs before Pawde departed for 9 off 9 balls at 1-27 in 3.3 overs, caught by Jacob off Getrude Chandiru. Gunasekar anchored the innings with a fluent 41 off 39 balls, striking two boundaries and rotating the strike effectively. She shared a decisive 65-run stand for the second wicket with Fiza Javed, taking the game away from Qatar.

Gunasekar eventually fell at 2-92 in 11.5 overs, but by then the result was a formality. Fiza Javed remained unbeaten on 34 off 27 balls, hitting three fours at a strike rate of 125.92, guiding Oman to 95/2 in just 12.2 overs. Javed Hina did not face a ball but was present at the crease as Oman Women completed the chase with 46 balls to spare, underlining the gulf between the sides in this T20I series encounter.

For Qatar Women, Getrude Chandiru (4-0-25-1) was the most effective with the ball, while Shahreen Bahadur (2-0-19-0), Afida Afthab (2-0-16-0), Sneha Chandnani (1-0-9-0), and Khadija Imtiaz (1-0-7-0) tried to contain the scoring but lacked penetration. In the end, this Oman Women vs Qatar Women match was defined by Oman’s superior execution in all departments, tight bowling, sharp fielding, and a confident chase, securing a comprehensive eight-wicket victory in Doha.
