Ahead of the 2026 season of The Hundred, Birmingham Phoenix Women have confirmed the signing of Lauren Filer. The English pacer has been quite impressive with her wicket-taking ability and her consistency.

Filer’s best performance came in August 2025, when she took 3 for 8 against Trent Rockets, helping Manchester Originals win by 10 wickets. In the Hundred, her numbers were quite good with London Spirit, Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire.
Filer gained attention for her rapid rise in cricket, and she is considered one of England’s premier fast-bowling talents, especially known for her raw pace and aggressive style. She has played over 25 international matches for England across formats, and she has picked up over 30 wickets.
Her economy rate of 5 indicates her ability to control the flow of runs while picking up important wickets as well. She was noticed when she consistently clocked 120kmph and she was able to trouble batters with the bounce she extracts with the pace and the hard-hitting lengths. She has been consistent in the hundred, and she has picked up 18 wickets.
She is a great new ball bowler and can be used at the death overs too. Filer has also featured in the Women’s Premier League, where her pace and fearless approach earned her trust in high-pressure situations.
Women’s Head Coach Ali Maiden said, “Lauren is an exciting young bowler with genuine pace and real competitiveness in her game. She brings an aggressive mindset and control that we believe will be crucial in The Hundred. We’re delighted to welcome her to Phoenix Women and look forward to seeing her impact throughout the 2026 season.”
Filer’s addition to the bowling unit strengthens Phoenix’s pace bowling resources. They boast a very solid bowling unit, as they have Issy Wong, who is a wicket-taking pacer who thrives in pressure situations. They also have Emily Arlott, who is a very disciplined bowler, and her ability to hit the hard lengths and control the flow of runs is another exciting asset to have.
“I’m really pleased to be joining Birmingham Phoenix,” said Filer. “The Hundred is an exciting tournament, and I’ve always loved playing at Edgbaston, where the atmosphere is incredible. I can’t wait to get started with the team, bowl in front of the Phoenix fans, and contribute to what I know will be a strong season.”
