The buildup to the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 officially begins September 25, with a full day of warm-up fixtures setting the stage for what promises to be a historic 13th edition of the tournament.
Hosted across India and Sri Lanka from 30th September to 2nd November, this year’s World Cup brings together eight of the finest women’s cricketing nations, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, in a battle for supremacy on the global stage.

Before the main event gets underway, the pre-tournament warm-ups will offer fans a first glimpse of form, strategies, and key player matchups.
Day 1 of the warm-ups on 25th September will give spectators plenty to watch with four evenly matched encounters lined up across Bengaluru and Colombo. India A, under the captaincy of Minnu Mani, will kickstart proceedings against New Zealand at the BCCI Center of Excellence Ground B from 9:30 AM IST, a contest that could reveal the depth and talent of India’s bench strength.
Later in the afternoon at the same venue, the spotlight will shift firmly onto Harmanpreet Kaur’s Indian side, as they meet England at 3 PM IST in a clash that echoes the intensity of past World Cup encounters.
Meanwhile, in Colombo, R Premadasa Stadium will host a double-header from 3 PM IST, with Sri Lanka facing off against Pakistan, and South Africa locking horns with Bangladesh. With subcontinental conditions at play and teams looking to fine-tune their combinations, fans can expect high-quality cricket and early signs of which squads may hit the ground running once the World Cup begins.
