Bangladesh Emerging Women are set for a busy tour of South Africa, where they will face South Africa Emerging Women in a six-match white-ball series beginning later this month. The tour will feature three One-Day matches followed by three T20 games, giving young players from both sides an important chance to gain experience in competitive cricket. The series will also help players continue their development, improve their skills and show their potential in an international cricket environment.
The women’s series will begin with the first ODI on July 29 at Chatsworth Oval in Durban. The second match will also be played at the same venue on July 31, before the teams move to Pietermaritzburg Oval in Pietermaritzburg for the third and final ODI on August 3. All three ODI matches are scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM SAST, giving both teams a chance to test their players in the 50-over format.
The two teams will then move into the shorter format, with the first T20 match scheduled for August 6 at Pietermaritzburg Oval. The final two matches of the six-match series will return to Chatsworth Oval in Durban, with the second T20 taking place on August 9 and the third and final match on August 11. The T20 games will begin at 1:00 PM SAST, giving players an opportunity to adjust to the quicker pace of the shortest format after the longer ODI matches.
Cricket South Africa has named a 15-player South Africa Emerging Women squad for the series, with the group featuring a strong mix of international experience and promising young talent. Seven players in the squad have already represented the Proteas Women at senior international level, including Faye Tunnicliffe, Nondumiso Shangase, Eliz-Mari Marx, Karabo Meso, Seshnie Naidu, Miané Smit and Leah Jones. Their experience will be important for the younger members of the squad as they look to take the next step in their careers.
The full South Africa Emerging Women squad includes Alex Candler, Leah Jones, Yasmeen Khan, Simone Lourens, Eliz-Mari Marx, Karabo Meso, Seshnie Naidu, Nthabiseng Nini, Luyanda Nzuza, Diara Ramlakan, Nondumiso Shangase, Oluhle Siyo, Miané Smit, Faye Tunnicliffe and Caitlin Wyngaard. Several players have also impressed in domestic cricket and through the South African Under-19 system, making this series a good opportunity for them to test themselves against another emerging international side.
The six-match series is part of South Africa’s high-performance pathway and will give players valuable exposure to competitive international cricket. The tour comes after the completion of the 2026 CSA Emerging Academy, allowing the players to build on the training and development work completed during the programme. The matches will play an important role in helping the next generation of South African cricketers prepare for the demands of higher-level cricket.
Bangladesh Emerging Women will also be looking to make the most of the tour and gain valuable experience away from home.
