Vidarbha win over Karnataka by 3 wickets in the Round IV of the Super League

Vidarbha got a 3-wicket victory over Karnataka in the 134th game of the tournament. The match which was held at Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground, Mulapadu, saw Karnataka setting a target of 71 which Vidarbha chased comfortably in the second innings of the match.

Karnataka won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Vanitha Vellaswamy made 10 in 12 balls before she was dismissed lbw by Komal Zanzad. Zanzad went on to take 3 wickets in the match. The other opener Shubha Satish scored 16 in 21 balls while bowling all-rounder Prathyusha Challuru remained not out on 11. Karnataka was bowled out on 70 runs by Vidarbha in the 19th over. Kanchan Nagwani and Reena Paul were the other bowlers who bowled well, sharing 4 wickets among themselves.

The Vidarbha openers fumbled while chasing in the second innings. It was captain Bharti Fulmali who made an unbeaten 30 off 35 to steer the chase. Latika Inamdar too made 11 runs in 22 balls as Karnataka’s Prathyusha Challuru ripped their batting line-up. She scalped 4 wickets while Rameshwari Gayakwad dismissed 2 batters. Still, they could not defend a low total of 70 as Vidarbha chased down the target in 16 overs.
