Skipper Hayley Matthews was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant all-round performance. She played a crucial role in helping the defending champions get over the line to kickstart the 3rd edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
Trinbago Knight Riders led by skipper Deandra Dottin were up against Barbados Royals led by skipper Hayley Matthews in the 2nd match of the season at the Brain Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. Barbados Royals skipper Hayley Matthews won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat first, Trinbago Knight Riders got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of their wicket-keeper batter Kycia Knight on the first ball of the innings for a golden duck.
