Players to watch out:
Jodi Grewcock
The 19-year-old all-rounder in the 2023 RHFT season, from 8 outings amassed 230 runs and from 6 innings picked up 14 wickets. Jodi was in notable form ahead of the competition, featuring in an under 19 tri-series, and continuing on the momentum has managed starts of 15*, 38, 13, 5, and 24, while returning figures of 3/28, 1/40, 1/7, 1/49, and 1/37. She’ll be backed to build on her scores while continuing her bowling form.
Nicola Hancock
The 28-year-old pacer from 10 One-Dayers in the 2023/24 Australian domestic season bagged 10 wickets while also being handy with the bat. In aiding English conditions, Nicola’s bowling returns read 3/15, 1/55, 3/20, 3/34, and 1/41, and in her couple of batting innings chipped in scoring 15 and 16 runs. She is a seasoned pacer and a handy batter, given the form she is in, she can be relied upon to deliver the goods.
Georgia Adams
The 30-year-old off-spinner from 13 RHFT games in the 2023/24 season racked up 546 runs and scalped 20 wickets. Georgia in a recent ‘A’ series against New Zealand didn’t find much success and has put behind her quiet start with the bat to this competition with consecutive fifties in her previous couple of outings, while has been effective with the ball, taking 6 wickets. She can be counted on for all-round efforts.
Linsey Smith
The 29-year-old left-arm off-spinner claimed 19 wickets from 12 outings, while also adding 178 runs to the tally from 10 innings in the RHFT games. Linsey had a notable lead-up to the competition with a few wickets on the tour of New Zealand, and come the RHFT tournament, she’s looked at her best with the ball, producing figures of 1/57, 2/20, 2/56, 3/19, and 1/62. She’ll be banked upon to continue leading the wickets tally.
Pitch:
The 22-yard strip at Brunton Memorial Ground heavily favors the spinners, offering ideal conditions for bowling, evident from the average score of 147. However, batters, once they have settled in and find their rhythm, can accumulate runs effectively.
Weather:
With light winds, humidity at 68%, and the temperature forecasted to hover around 16°C, the conditions are pleasant for a game of cricket. The overhead is expected to be partly cloudy, but the chances of rain remain minimal.
