Argentina have announced a 15-member women’s squad, led by Maria Castineiras, for their upcoming tour of Mexico, where the two sides will contest a landmark three-match T20I series from 24th to 25th October 2026 at the Complejo Municipal de Beisbol de Texcoco. The series carries particular significance as it marks the first time Mexico will host Argentina for a T20I bilateral series, adding another meaningful chapter to the growth of women’s cricket in the Americas.

Argentina arrive in Mexico with recent momentum behind them. They last hosted Canada in a seven-match T20I bilateral series in July 2026 and emerged 5-1 winners, a result that reflected both their depth and consistency across a demanding schedule. Captain Castineiras will now be tasked with translating that home success into an away series, against a Mexico side eager to make the most of a rare bilateral opportunity on home soil.
The touring party blends experience with emerging talent.

With 15 players available for the series, Argentina’s management will have options to assess combinations while maintaining a competitive XI throughout the series.
Mexico, meanwhile, will draw confidence from their most recent T20I bilateral assignment. In November 2024, they faced Costa Rica in a three-match series and secured a 2-0 victory, underlining their progress in the regional women’s game. Hosting Argentina now gives them the chance to build on that foundation in front of a home crowd and test themselves against an opponent arriving on the back of a strong series result.
The schedule is compact but demanding. The first and second T20Is will both be played on 24th October, beginning at 7 AM IST and 12 PM IST respectively, before the third and final match takes place on 25th October at 7 AM IST. The double-header opening day could prove decisive: a side that starts well will have the chance to seal the series within hours, while the trailing team will be immediately pushed into recovery mode.
For Argentina, the tour is an opportunity to extend their winning habit and continue developing a squad capable of competing regularly in international T20 cricket. For Mexico, it represents more than three matches; it is a chance to showcase their growth as hosts, deepen their competitive experience, and inspire further interest in women’s cricket domestically.
As the teams prepare to meet at Texcoco, the series promises competitive cricket, historical firsts and a valuable platform for two developing women’s cricket nations. With Argentina carrying the confidence of their 5-1 series win over Canada and Mexico buoyed by their 2-0 triumph against Costa Rica, the three-match contest has all the ingredients to be a significant step forward for the women’s game in the region.
