Central Sparks announces the acquisition of Courtney Webb, a talented batter from Melbourne Renegades and South Australia, as their overseas player for the upcoming Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy 2024 season.
Representing the West Midlands region, Central Sparks epitomize the spirit of English domestic women’s cricket in tournaments like the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for its thrilling fourth edition unfolding between 20 April and 21 September 2024. With eight teams engaged in a rigorous double round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds, the tournament is nothing short of electrifying.
Webb, known for her proficient right-handed batting, joins Sparks just in time, marking her debut in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy against Sunrisers on Wednesday, May 1st, with her performance in the Women’s Big Bash League and representing Melbourne Renegades and Tasmania in the Women’s National Cricket League, Webb brings a wealth of experience and skill to Lloyd Tennant’s squad.
In the 2023 Women’s Big Bash League, Webb showcased her prowess across 12 innings, amassing a total of 158 runs with an impressive unbeaten high score of 49. Her consistency is reflected in an average of 15.08, coupled with a commendable strike rate of 102.59.
