Zimbabwe announces squad for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024 in Abu Dhabi

The Zimbabwe women’s team led by skipper Mary-Anne Musonda were last involved in a bilateral series when they hosted Papua New Guinea led by skipper Brenda Tau for a three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series. Zimbabwe whitewashed Papua New Guinea (3-0) in the ODI series and also went on to clinch the three-match (2-1) T20I series.

The Zimbabwean Women’s team will now be involved in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi in their bid to book a spot in the big ICC event, i.e. the Women’s World Cup, later this year. A total of 10 teams are participating in the World Cup qualifiers later in the month. Zimbabwe are placed in group B which consists of the Netherlands, Ireland, the UAE, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has announced their squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Abu Dhabi.

Marry-Anne Musonda ©, Josephine Nkomo, Kelis Ndhlovu, Sharne Mayers, Modester Mupachikwa, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, Chiyedza Dhururu, Loreen Tshuma, Audrey Mazvishaya, Nomvelo Sibanda, Precious Marange, Pellagia Mujaji, Lindokuhle Mabhera, Francisca Chipare, and Ashley Ndiraya.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and the two finalists will qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, in Bangladesh scheduled to take place in September-October later this year.
