The Royals, with back-to-back wins, had a bright start to their season but have won just 1 in their last 4 games and will want to find their winning momentum, while the Capitals’ 4-game winning streak was halted by UP Warriorz in their most recent game in a final-over thriller.

Squads:

Delhi Capitals – Meg Lanning* (C), Marizanne Kapp*, Aparna Mondal, Sneha Deepthi, Alice Capsey*, Titas Sadhu, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, Minnu Mani, Ashwani Kumari, Arundhati Reddy, Taniya Bhatia, Laura Harris*, Shikha Pandey, Jess Jonassen*, Poonam Yadav, Annabel Sutherland*

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Smriti Mandhana (C), Ekta Bisht, Georgia Wareham*, Shreyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux*, Shradda Pokharkar, Richa Ghosh, Kate Cross*, Nadine de Klerk*, Shubha Satheesh, Sabbhineni Meghana, Indrani Roy, Asha Shobana, Ellyse Perry*, Simran Dil Bahadur, Disha Kasat, Renuka Singh Thakur, Sophie Devine*

Players to watch out:

Marizanne Kapp

The 34-year-old all-rounder has added 59 runs to the tally from 3 batting innings, while also taking 8 wickets from 4 outings this WPL season. Marizanne hasn’t featured in all of Delhi’s games this season, but has been a standout and undoubtedly will be an asset against the Royals, with the ball upfront and with the bat late in the batting innings.

Titas Sadhu

The 19-year-old pacer, following domestic and U19 World Cup success, was roped in by the Capitals last auction but didn’t get a game. Nonetheless, Titas debuted this season and, continuing her fine form from domestic and international games, has returned figures of 0/12 (2), 1/23 (3), and 2/23 (3) from three outings. It’ll be hoped she capitalizes on this form.

Richa Ghosh

The 20-year-old keeper-batter kicked off the ongoing WPL season with a blazing 37-ball 62 but hasn’t contributed a lot since, departing on scores of 19, 7, and 30; barring the game against UP Warriorz where she remained unbeaten on 21. Richa has been striking the ball well but just hasn’t converted her starts in recent outings and will be backed to do so.

Renuka Singh Thakur

The 28-year-old pacer, maintaining an economy rate of 7.25, has scalped just a couple of wickets this season as her struggles in the WPL continue. Renuka had a notable start to her season but hasn’t made the most of the start she has had. It’ll be expected of the seasoned pacer to find her form and lead the tally for the team in these 2nd leg fixtures.

Pitch:

The 22 yards at Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium offers a well-balanced playing surface that is suited for both batters and bowlers. While spinners enjoy the assistance of the pitch, batters are rewarded for their shots, and the average score at the venue is in the 160s.

Weather:

With light winds, humidity at 39%, and the temperature expected to hover around 22°C, the conditions are pleasant for cricket. Moreover, the forecast indicates clear skies with a minimal possibility of rain.
