First played in 2014 in remembrance of the victims of the 1994 genocide, the Kwibuka Women’s Twenty20 (T20) Tournament is scheduled to have its 9th edition from the 10th to the 17th of June, 2023 in Rwanda. From format and squads to schedule and broadcast, below is all you need to know about the upcoming edition of the T20 tournament.
The tournament will feature the host nation Rwanda, along with national teams from four-time champions Kenya, two-time champions Uganda, Botswana, and Nigeria. However, defending champions Tanzania, who won the title in the eighth edition, will not be competing for the title defense.
Format:
The tournament will feature a double round-robin format, with each team set to play against all the others twice in the league games. In the Final, the top-seeded team will face off against the winner of the 3rd place playoff game.
