The 14th match of the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup will be played between Rwanda and Zimbabwe on January 17 at North-West University No1 Ground in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The game will begin at 1.30 PM IST (10 AM LOCAL).

Both teams will play their second game in the tournament. They have started their World Cup campaign on a losing note. While Rwanda lost to Pakistan by eight wickets, Zimbabwe suffered a crushing 174-run defeat against England.

The captain of Rwanda Women’s U19 starred with the bat in her last appearance against Pakistan Women’s U19. The right-handed top-order batter mustered 40 off 45, including four boundaries. She also accounted for 27/1 in 3.5 overs, thus making all-round contributions.

The dashing all-rounder of Rwanda Women’s U19 made handy contributions with bat and ball in her last match against Pakistan Women’s U19. The right-handed middle-order batter scored 14 off 13, including one hit to the fence. She also picked 12/1 in three overs, opening the bowling.

Olinder Chare:

She was the most successful bowler for Zimbabwe Women’s U19 in her last outing against England Women’s U19. She scalped 34/2 in four overs, striking once inside the powerplay and once in the death overs. She would look to carry her form in the rest of the tournament.

Kudzai Chigora:

The right-arm speedster of Zimbabwe Women’s U19 opened the bowling in the last fixture against England Women’s U19. She claimed 33/1 in four overs and was the most economical bowler in the high-scoring contest. She will be expected to provide early breakthroughs to her team.

Pitch

It will be the third game of the competition at this venue. The teams batting first and second have won one fixture each. The surface seems to be excellent for batting. A run feast could be on the cards. The bowlers will have to think out of the box to outwit the batters on this batting paradise.
