A revamped Perth Scorchers unit when last time around took the field, had opener Beth Mooney always put on batting displays for the team and eventually went on finishing the tournament with the most (547) runs. Scorchers in their 14 games, registered wins in 9, defeats in 3 and with no result in a couple of games, finished at the top of the table.

The record crowd count of 15,511 set a new attendance record for a standalone WBBL match as they watched Sophie Devine top score with 35(33) and Marizanne Kapp with her knock of 31* power the Perth Scorchers post 146 on the board for the loss of 5 wickets. Adelaide Strikers in reply had Tahlia McGrath top score with 36(29), but couldn’t bail the team home as the side fell 12 short of the required closing out on 134/6 with Taneale Peschel registering figures of 2/23 from her 4 overs to help Perth Scorchers win their maiden W-BBL title.

The key architecture for the Scorchers in winning the title was Marizanne Kapp who in the leadup to the final remained ill and stayed in her hotel room, but when came the big final she produced an all-round performance that saw her score 31* off 23 and registered bowling figures of 1/25 from 4 overs to help the Scorchers claim their maiden WBBL title.
