Players to watch out for
Smriti Mandhana:
The left handed opening batter of India scored a delectable half-century in her last outing against India. She looked solid in the middle and will be required to provide India with good starts in the upcoming matches.
Sneh Rana:
This Indian all-rounder had a fantastic start to her World Cup campaign as she made useful contributions with both bat and ball. She mustered an unbeaten half century against Pakistan and also struck with a couple of wickets.
Suzie Bates:
This right-handed opening batter of New Zealand won the player of the match in her last match against Pakistan as she muscled an undefeated 79 off 68 balls. She guided her team to a comfortable nine-wicket win.
Amelia Kerr:
This star New Zealand all-rounder has been in red hot form with both bat and ball. In her previous outing, she plundered an unbeaten 47 and stitched a 108-run partnership with Suzie Bates to see her side home against Pakistan. Apart from her batting, she is a wily leg spinner and a genuine wicket-taker.
Pitch
The last match that was played here, which was a part of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, saw more than 600 runs being scored. It is a batting paradise where batters can enjoy themselves and get big runs for their team. On the other hand, the bowlers will not find it that easy to restrict the free-flowing batters. The bowlers will have to be patient and bowl in the right areas consistently.
Weather
The weather is expected to be partly sunny and warm. The average temperature will be around 28 degrees Celsius, with just two percent chance of precipitation and 36 percent cloud cover. The wind will blow from the east.
